About the job

We follow a simple but vital premise in the User Experience group: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." We are ardently interested in our users and strive to learn everything we can about their behaviors, attitudes, and emotions to help define the products and experiences we create. In Brazil, our UX team operates as a dynamic internal design studio, acting as a multi-disciplinary team of interaction designers, visual designers, researchers, writers, and engineers. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create innovative, usable, and great-looking products that people love to use, working across a wide variety of formats—from high-impact strategic presentations to deep product design.

As a UX Design Intern, you will envision how people experience our products and bring that outlook to life in a way that feels inspired, refined, and even magical. You will join us at a pivotal moment where Search faces deep product challenges in balancing traditional discovery with new AI interactions. In this role, you’ll learn to handle complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible solutions for billions of people, supporting the creation of high-fidelity product prototypes that allow us to test and validate ideas with a high degree of accuracy before implementation. Under focused guidance, you will plan and execute UX designs for assigned projects, sometimes taking the lead on moderately complex flows and detailed interactions that define the future of the user experience.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation of high-level storyboards, mockups, and prototypes, collaborating with Product Managers to understand how we evolve product features.
  • Develop your understanding of typography, color, grids, and composition, while learning best practices for pixel-perfect production and design systems. Learn to produce high-quality design assets that accurately reflect Google’s visual language and brand guidelines across varied project formats.
  • Foster your intellectual curiosity by participating in testing and iteration cycles within the studio environment. Explore a broad range of styles and execution methods, building a solid foundation for consistent and polished design delivery.
