Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity or corporate advisory.
  • Experience in technology strategy development and execution, working with in-house and third-party development teams.
  • Experience working with and analyzing data.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree.
  • Knowledge of Google Ads or the digital ads industry.
  • Ability to manage and own high visibility projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent business acumen, with the ability to tie product changes to potential business impact.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive leadership and public speaking at internal off-sites and leadership summits.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

The Ads and Commerce Product Strategy and Operations team helps steer the ads and commerce product business and ensures Google’s business generation engine is strategically aligned and operationally efficient.

The Product Intelligence team empowers Ads and Commerce Product Leadership to make decisions by providing the critical market and participant context needed to navigate a complex ecosystem. We maintain a constant pulse on the industry, synthesizing participant announcements, structural trends, and product tear-downs to reduce uncertainty and steer strategic planning. Fueled by intellectual curiosity and a desire to think ahead of the curve, we anticipate user trends and technology, solving complex strategy questions to position Google for long-term success.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Follow intellectual curiosity to develop strategic perspectives on our core ads and commerce participants and industry trends to predict what’s coming ahead, reviewing market research, consulting with experts (PMs, customers, etc.), and commissioning third-party research/surveys.
  • Internalize product gaps and pain points, and drive actionable industry and product insights for ads and commerce product leaders and Product Managers.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership and Product Managers on core ads and commerce participants, and advocate for the perspective through presentations at key leadership forums (including product leadership meetings, team sprints, off-sites, etc.).
  • Partner closely with organic teams, Finance, GBO, and other business partners to ensure alignment and bring the best of Google to the Ads and Commerce organization.
