HR Market Consultant (Fixed Term Contract)

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience as an HR business partner or HR generalist.
  • Ability to communicate in English and German fluently to support internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience implementing large-scale HR projects, risk management/mitigation and supporting change management, business readiness, communications, and training activities.
  • Experience working with employee representatives (e.g., works council or disability representatives).
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive and adaptable, ready to review and adjust the strategy accordingly, even in short term periods.
  • Excellent project and stakeholder management skills to develop strong relationships with internal (e.g., business, people operations, and employee representatives) and external stakeholders (e.g., governmental agencies).
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.

Whether coaching our clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our Googlers, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first, and being as clear and transparent as possible to help Googlers understand how people decisions get made.

Market Consultants are the recognized experts driving HR innovation and execution in the German market. As a member of the Germany Country HR team, you will take the visionary market HR plan and bring it to life, actively operationalizing Google’s top market priorities and making a tangible impact on the ground.

In this role, you will work dynamically across multiple people operations teams and business leaders to seamlessly connect stakeholders, lead a portfolio of complex projects, and drive decisions that shape the future of Google in Germany.

You will also advocate for workplace equity as Google Germany's Inclusion Officer (“Inklusionsbeauftragte/r”) for 20% of your time. You will be the primary advocate and representative for Googlers with disabilities, leading vital initiatives to enhance workplace inclusivity. By balancing strategic leadership with legal compliance, you will actively represent Google's inclusion efforts both internally and externally, helping to build a truly supportive and equitable environment for all employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the engagement of employee representatives by planning and coordinating meetings, partnering with the business, people operations, and employment legal to ensure compliance with German information and consultation obligations.
  • Contribute to rolling out high-priority, country-focused HR programs and initiatives aligned with the country people plan.
  • Oversee complex labor relations projects simultaneously by managing timelines, identifying risks, and clearly communicating goals to stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Googlers with disabilities, Germany Country HR, disability representatives, and works councils regarding matters concerning employees with disabilities. Support the drafting of agreements and the execution of inclusion processes to actively promote equal opportunities.
  • Represent Google's interests regarding Googlers with disabilities, ensuring legal compliance and providing strategic guidance. Track and report on company-wide inclusion management, deriving and implementing preventive measures.
