Staff Interaction Designer, YouTube Artist and Fan Experiences

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience designing, building, or launching consumer-facing products.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience utilizing design systems and applying strategic thinking to product design.
  • Experience leveraging AI in design process and workflows, including prototyping.
  • Experience using storytelling and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in the music or podcasts industry.
  • Experience designing in the social application landscape.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$274,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product goal and definition of music artist and fan experiences across YouTube's products, and manage design work effectively across multiple projects and communicate priorities to your team.
  • Collaborate with Program Manager (PM) to own and execute the design process end-to-end with minimal guidance, and build strong relationships with PM and Engineering partners and work cross-functionally to develop a user-centered product goal for AI assisted viewer and creator experiences, then align on logical, iterative steps to get there over time.
  • Produce deliverables such as mocks, wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and carefully crafted visual specs.
  • Define, design, and advocate progressive thoughtful applications of AI to support.
  • Drive product innovation through ideation, concept development and user testing, and contribute to a creative and supportive UX culture that values critical feedback in the pursuit of excellence.
