Threat Intelligence Security Developer, Ads

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
  • 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
  • Experience with security development, computer and network security and security protocols.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in working with two or more from the following web application development, Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, developing large software systems, or security software development.
  • Understanding of web service (e.g., HTTP, TCP, Java-Script).

About the job

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Developers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software developers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.

As a Threat Intelligence Security Developer, you will provide unique threat intelligence reports, propose threat actor tracking solutions and disruption techniques and help build a scaled threat intelligence platform to advise on effective anti-abuse strategies in Google Ads and third-party ad products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform investigations on a wide variety of events to determine whether they pose a threat to Google users.
  • Identify, analyze, and document signals, malicious behaviors, and threat reports related to trends and developments in adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Build tools for analyzing malvertising and other ad abuse attacks, identifying threats and tracking adversaries.
  • Provide clear, actionable, and structured intelligence to Product teams to mitigate uncovered risks.
  • Own the analysis efforts of one or more threat actors, and serve as a subject matter expert on how those actors might affect Google and our users.
