Business Intelligence Data Governance Lead, Google Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory, or 4 years of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience with progressive responsibility in data management, with significant experience leading and implementing data governance programs in complex organizations.
  • Ability to influence decision-making and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Ablility to root out desired insights and business impact of requested analytics/insights/dashboards to ensure robust deliverables meet customer needs and engage priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the BI data governance framework and strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and requirements. This includes defining data governance principles, standards, and processes for managing data as a valuable organizational asset.
  • Facilitate the migration of GPS BI data assets into an enterprise data warehousing environment (Concord) and the creation of automated, scalable data access control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to promote data governance awareness and adoption. This involves facilitating data governance committees, providing training, and acting as a key point of contact for data governance related inquiries and guidance.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous enhancement. This includes tracking key metrics, conducting audits, and recommending corrective actions to optimize data quality and governance maturity.
