Treasury Analyst

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in Internal Controls or Treasury Operations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in MBA, Accounting, or COSO certification.
  • Experience in Treasury Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), cash management and foreign exchange.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining good judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal, communication, and investigative skills.

Google's Treasury team is on a mission to optimize the return on Google's financial assets. As a member of this team, you're always looking for innovative ways to help Google invest for the future while limiting volatility and material surprises. In addition to risk busting and asset management, you work collaboratively to administer business insurance programs and stock programs, and provide financial analysis support to our internal teams. You make creative yet calculated decisions that are backed by both experience and your extensive knowledge of the economy and financial industry.

The mission of the Financial Risk and Strategy team is to mitigate financial risk to Alphabet through our hedging activities and partnership with the business, underpinned by strong internal controls and governance activities across Treasury.

In this role, you will help establish and carry out risk management and governance functions across Treasury. You will work closely with the broader Treasury organization, Legal, Tax, Accounting and Finance teams to support an efficient and effective risk and control environment for the Treasury function. This role includes developing and facilitating an effective policy and control environment, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Internal Audit for Treasury, process excellence initiatives, business continuity planning, and supporting core risk management and activities (including interest rates, foreign exchange and commodities). You will continuously seek ways to reduce both financial and operational risks and improve the efficiency of global treasury activities.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Treasury policies to drive a strong risk management framework. Assess policy compliance, risks and controls against process changes. Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) related to the policies.
  • Support process excellent initiatives across cash management, hedging and governance activities. 
  • Support business continuity planning, including refinement of the overall strategy and approach, communication and training, and program maintenance.
  • Identify areas for process improvement in the Treasury function and work with stakeholders to create a roadmap to implement improvements, including system process automation. Develop and drive Treasury policy training curriculum.
  • Support the development and maintenance of all Treasury policies; analyze policies and processes across Treasury and develop key performance indicators and management reports to measure effectiveness and compliance in all areas
