About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As part of the Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management (CSRM) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program for data centers and technical infrastructure. This role is responsible for strategic development, implementation, and execution of the Global EHS contractor management program.

In this role, you will work with stakeholders, including creating, implementing standardized processes, developing a contractor management tool, and collaborating across Cloud (e.g., procurement, EHS, operations, construction, legal). You will focus on establishing a scalable end-to-end framework, including pre-qualification, contractor selection, on-boarding, performance monitoring, accurate documentation, and end-of-agreement review. You will collaborate to manage vendors and ensure the process meets business requirements.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the EHS contractor management program, overseeing implementation of key elements (prequalification, mobilization, monitoring, reviews, audits, training, documentation), lead buy-versus-build analysis for technical solutions.
  • Act as the primary EHS point of contact for stakeholders (CSRM, procurement, legal, IT, data center construction/operations), develop/execute a communication plan, facilitate feedback, and ensure consistent program application.
  • Monitor program effectiveness via KPIs (pre-mobilizations, mobilizations, inspections, audits), ensure EHS criteria for contractor selection, oversee assessments, manage performance tracking/corrective actions, and facilitate reviews.
  • Establish a process for continuous program improvement based on data, lessons learned, and best practices, regularly review/update documentation, utilize an EHS contractor management tool, and work with teams/contractors on corrective actions.
  • Develop training materials (implementation guide, presentation), provide training to Google Cloud personnel, and offer ongoing support for program adoption and improvement.
