Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience managing communications in the tech, media, government or non-profit space with a focus on writing and strategic communications.
  • 3 years of experience supporting executive communications.
  • Experience with stakeholder management and working cross-functionally.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in content development for an executive or brand, with experience producing content for social media channels.
  • Ability to work calmly and maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, and to work well across teams, functions, and levels.
  • Ability to succeed in ambiguity and balance a number of competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The Communications team at YouTube helps inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders, and our own employees about the benefits of YouTube's products, our distinctive company culture and values, and our approach to the big issues of the day.

In this role, you’ll lead the social media strategy for YouTube executives, shaping how our leaders engage with the creator community, advertisers, and the public.

It's our job to help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values, and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. To succeed here, you'll combine creativity with organizational skills to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously, as well as enjoy pitching to journalists, bloggers and commentators, or producing internal communications and events for our employees. Things happen quickly at Google and to get stuff done here you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally and isn't hesitant to take risks or try new things.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $134,000-$196,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy for social media presence and deliver to YouTube executives. Manage and grow the social media presence of YouTube executives across YouTube and other social media platforms.
  • Work cross-functionally to prepare copy and assets that showcase YouTube’s product innovation and investment in our creators, artists, viewers, and partners.
  • Develop strategy for executives' YouTube channels including production of long- and short-form videos.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on trends and industry news to ensure our executives are part of the right conversations.
  • Track engagement metrics and analytics to understand reach and sentiment. Manage content calendars and ensure a steady, strategic cadence of posts.
