Accountant, Energy and Power

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  • Experience with the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) in a public accounting or multi-national organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with specialized areas of accounting associated with power purchase agreements and power and utilities companies.
  • Experience with Consolidation Accounting (ASC 810), Hedge Accounting (ASC 815), Lease Accounting (ASC 842) or International Financial Reporting Standards 9, 10, 16.
  • Experience with SQL, SAP and spreadsheet software.
  • Knowledge of commodity agreements involving power purchase agreements, renewable energy credits and power-related investments.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fluid environment, and to support complex operational initiatives.

You will advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You will lead an accounting process. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $99,000-$145,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Act as key accounting support for power purchase agreements, renewable-energy credits and other energy-related works.
  • Work with Power Purchase Agreement team to review significant agreements for proper accounting treatment.
  • Manage quarterly close/reporting process.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, system improvements, and deliver implementation of the solutions.
