Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience programming in Python or C++.
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
  • 1 year of experience with one or more of the following: reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, LLM fine tuning, or specialization in another ML field.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with ads ranking, recommender systems or video ads.
  • Experience with data analysis.

We aim to grow the YouTube Ads business responsibly by putting the users first. Our projects include user cost optimization, ad relevance, creative quality, integrated user experience, inventory optimization, and sesource optimization.

The User team develops auction user cost to optimize for long-term business growth, user perception survey infra to measure user experience, and improves ads quality through relevance, creative quality, inventory and more.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code. 
  • Develop the user cost system in auction to optimize for long-term value, thus growing YouTube ads long-term business growth sustainably.
  • Deliver ads aligned with user interests and contextual signals promoting premium quality ads, and integrating user/ad sentiment into the auction system.
  • Drive efficiency and scalability across YouTube ads serving infrastructure.
  • Build and deploy recommendation systems models, utilize machine learning (ML) infrastructure, and contribute to model optimization and data processing.
