  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience owning advanced spreadsheets and extracting insights from large datasets.
  • Experience developing frameworks for financial storytelling to executive audiences.
  • Experience with driver-based forecasting and planning.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

The YouTube Finance team is part of the broader Strategy, Analytics, and Finance team (SAF) whose mission is to make YouTube commercially sustainable and more valuable, by identifying and steering the business towards the biggest opportunities, guiding the organization to make the best possible decisions, and enabling effective implementation with proactive and trusted risk management.

The YouTube Profit and Loss Planning and Reporting team is responsible for profit and loss management for YouTube, including business growth, forecasting, and analytics. As a member of this team, you will contribute to the oversight of YouTube's financial reporting at the highest level, including exposure to YouTube’s financial and business performance.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$167,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly forecasting, budget tracking, annual planning and Long-range Plan for YouTube’s headcount and payroll spend and deliver internal reporting staples that tell the story of YouTube’s headcount and payroll trajectory.
  • Partner regularly with People Operations and
    Product Operations to validate and update headcount modeling assumptions and build an efficient cross-functional headcount forecasting process for YouTube.
  • Synthesize complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives for leadership presentations.
  • Support tracking and diligence of cost allocations to YouTube’s profit and loss by maintaining a monthly reporting cadence for regular budget monitoring, as well as periodic analyses into specific areas.
  • Identify and implement process optimizations to YouTube’s reporting and insights capabilities by developing expertise in the Google-wide headcount, payroll, and allocations tool ecosystem, bringing the best of those tools into YouTube’s processes.
