Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in market research, data science, marketing analytics, or a related field.
- 12 years of experience building and leading research or analytics teams.
- Experience collaborating with executives and cross-functional partners across global Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s degree, with B2B brand or product marketing experience.
- Experience marketing complex technology products to C-level and VP-level executives at large, global enterprise companies.
- Experience influencing product strategy and business outcomes through foundational, data-driven insights.
- Expertise in the digital advertising ecosystem, with knowledge of search, video (e.g. YouTube), and performance marketing.
- Expertise in wide range of research methodologies (i.e., segmentation, econometrics, brand tracking, conjoint analysis, qualitative research) and ability to synthesize findings into holistic view.
- Exceptional problem solving skills, with ability to define key business metrics, analyze large datasets, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
About the job
As Director you will evolve and guide an insights, research, and analyst relations organization for Ads Marketing. You will be responsible for conducting deep research and data analysis to uncover foundational insights that will drive business strategy, product development, and marketing initiatives.
In this role, you will also be the expert on our advertisers and the market landscape, and be responsible for shaping and strengthening Google Ads' perception and influence within the industry analyst community. You will be responsible for landing critical insights with executives across the organization and collaborating closely with insights organizations across Consumer Marketing, the Global Business Organization (GBO), and Product Areas (PAs) to create a unified view of the customer and market. You will also coordinate research and claims across regional insights teams. Your work will directly influence how we solve marketers' complex problems and drive the industry forward globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$356,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Define and lead research and insights for Google Ads business, identifying pivotal strategic questions and comprehensive roadmap to address them through meticulous research and analysis. Cultivate and nurture relationships with influential industry analysts and research firms. Develop bespoke analyst relations plans to realize strategic objectives.
- Orchestrate Google Ads' contributions to third-party research. Inspire, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of researchers, data scientists, and analysts.
- Translate intricate data, research findings, and product narratives into lucid, compelling insights and actionable recommendations. Forge partnerships on research priorities with insights organizations.
- Identify and cultivate opportunities for, and coordinate the inclusion of, third-party analyst voices and research. Architect robust processes for analyst relationship management and insight generation.
