Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in product design or UX for consumer technology.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

From creating user flows and wireframes to building mockups and prototypes, you will envision and bring product experiences to life with an inspired, refined, and magical feel. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

As the Senior Staff UX Designer, you will define the future of interaction for Search. You will be responsible for establishing and driving a cohesive product design and idea that can leverage generative AI.

In partnership with product, engineering, and research leaders, you will navigate ambiguity to deliver innovations that redefine how users access information.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $237,000-$329,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Influence stakeholders across organizations to gain support for design strategies. 
  • Lead the development of innovative design solutions for user, product, and business problems. 
  • Own a holistic design process, design system, or design language across teams or products. 
  • Lead design solutions based on user insights, business needs, and industry trends that further business outcomes. 
  • Guide and provide direction to UX designers in creating design concepts for user research/testing.
