About the job

Google's known for our innovative technologies, products and services -- and for the people behind them. As part of our recruiting team, you're charged with finding the most interesting candidates who bring an entrepreneurial spirit to all they do. You're responsible for guiding candidates through our hiring process and connecting them to the magic of working at Google. You are creative and driven, which allows you to develop lasting relationships with both candidates and hiring managers. You're also comfortable with numbers and drawing insights from analytics to make our hiring process smarter and more efficient.

In this role, you will be a Manager responsible for leading a Recruiting team across Japan. You will develop relationships across the organization, working collaboratively with business leaders, and peers to drive results for your team, the Recruiting organization and Google. You will do this while ensuring the clients and candidates that move through the hiring process have an excellent experience they would find nowhere else but Google.

Great just isn't good enough for our People Operations team (known elsewhere as "Human Resources"). We bring the world's most innovative people to Google and provide the programs that help them thrive. Whether recruiting the next Googler, refining our core programs, developing talent, or simply looking for ways to inject some more fun into the lives of our Googlers, we bring a data-driven approach that is reinventing the human resources field.

Responsibilities

  • Create and evolve a talent acquisition strategy that anticipates the needs of the Japan business across multiple product areas and functions.
  • Act as an inspiring people leader, nurturing the team's career growth and development, and extending strategic and operational support to clients and the Japan recruiting team.
  • Establish trusted relationships with Japan business leaders (Directors, VPs) through transparent, informed communication. Partner with HR leaders to collaboratively drive desired outcomes.
  • Represent the Japan's talent market and surface best practices to your APAC peers. Collaborate closely with others to share knowledge and incorporate innovative practices into your market.
  • Manage headcount progress for cross-organization client groups to promote tracking and influence headcount allocation, pacing, and the strategy of hiring managers. Leverage data and market insights to influence and guide both your team and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
