Senior Staff Software Developer, Serverless AI

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 5 years of experience building infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in cloud-native software and orchestration stacks, such as serverless architectures, Kubernetes, etc.
  • 2 years of experience building infrastructure for Agentic AI.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll be at the very forefront of designing and implementing the next-generation infrastructure for Agentic AI, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the cloud. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product management, engineering leads, and external customers in defining technical strategy for AI and ML workloads on Cloud Run and in support of other first-party and third-party initiatives across Cloud that will leverage Cloud Run as a platform.
  • Collaborate with with technical partners across Google to deliver key innovations in the serverless compute space.
  • Guide architecture and integration strategies for first-party service producers and third-party platform providers building on Cloud Run to address Agentic AI use cases. 
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to serverless team members.
  • Scale, improve, and operate backend distributed systems to ensure reliability, scalability, performance, cost efficiency, security and privacy.
