  • 15 years of experience in management consulting, product management and strategy, or analytics in a technology company.
  • 3 years of experience managing or leading teams.

  • Experience with R, SQL, spreadsheets, or similar analytics tools.
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Our team’s mission is to help Play & Developer Ecosystem leadership make strategically sound decisions, by identifying challenges and opportunities that can materially change our team's performance, and define appropriate strategic response or action. We do this though analysis, research and problem solving that leads to strategic insights that help Play achieve its mission in the context of the complex ecosystem we participate in.

We work with cross-functional counterparts across Play and beyond (including Android and Gemini) to do this.

As part of this team, you will participate in critical projects answering the most complex questions Play is facing. You will typically collaborate with counterparts across Product, Global Business Organization (GBO), Finance, Legal, and other functions to do this.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $222,000-$309,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a high-performing team, translating broad organizational goals into actionable OKRs while balancing resource allocation with individual professional development.
  • Define long-term road maps for the Android Developer and Android Ecosystem Trust domains, identifying growth opportunities and strategic imperatives to ensure sustainable business expansion.
  • Serve as a primary thought leader for VP-level leadership, delivering data-driven insights and structured communications for high-stakes decisions and board-level updates.
  • Lead global initiatives across product, finance, and legal, utilizing data-driven methodologies to synchronize complex projects and achieve organization-wide business objectives.
  • Direct critical business functions, including strategic planning and product area-wide deep dives, driving quantifiable product and financial metrics visible at the enterprise level.
