As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

By thoughtfully organizing content from countless apps and services, we eliminate the friction of navigating multiple sources, putting the user's desired entertainment front and center. Leveraging Google's strengths in AI and search, we deliver relevant suggestions and experiences that help users effortlessly find their next favorite show or movie, transforming TV into a more helpful and enjoyable experience.

Google TV is redefining the TV experience to make it highly personalized, Google-smart, and content-forward to help users access the world’s media. Through recent launches like Chromecast with Google TV, we bring together the best of Google. Google TV is focused on scaling across the OEM ecosystem; working closely with third-party streaming partners plus many teams across Google (for example: Ads, Play, and YouTube); and building a business on TV platforms, OTT devices, and mobile devices. With millions of active users of our products plus being amidst the quickly evolving media and entertainment industry, there are plenty of opportunities for the team and individuals in it.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Represent the user in every product discussion, ensuring that platform requirements never compromise the core human experience.
  • Integrate AI into your design process to explore and rapidly iterate on predictive interfaces that anticipate user intent.
  • Define and prototype how users interact with Televisions (TVs) using voice, gesture, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) inputs.
  • Manage the design life-cycle for the TV OS, from initial identifying of user friction to delivering polished, high-impact solutions.
  • Lead the growth of the Google TV Design System, ensuring it stays modern, scalable, and adaptable to the latest global design trends and partner needs.
