Data Engineer, Physical Security

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience coding with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++).
  • 3 years of experience designing data pipelines (ETL) and model data, for synch and asynch system integration and implementation.
  • 3 years of experience analyzing data, database query (e.g., SQL), and creating dashboards/reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in working with/on data warehouses, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, data modeling, ETL/ELT and reporting tools and data structures.
  • Experience with SQL Server, AppsScript, and Data Studio.
  • Experience prioritizing customer needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in technical consulting.
  • Experience with JavaScript and web applications, including front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Polymer) or backend web services and microservices on cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with core web technologies (e.g., HTTP, TCP/IP, HTML, CSS, XML).

gTech’s Product and Tools Operations team (gPTO) leverages deep user, operational, and technical insights to innovate Google's Ads products into customer experiences that are so intuitive (or automated) that they require no support at all. gPTO partners closely with gTech’s Support, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering teams to innovate and simplify our Ads products and build the productivity tools ecosystem for gTech users.

The Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) Systems and Technology team is responsible for enterprise security technology that improves Google's ability to anticipate, detect, deter, and take action efficiently and effectively during all types of security incidents globally. Our team works across GSRS, Google and Alphabet to deliver products that extract data from our security systems and make it available for process improvement and analytics.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $124,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted technical partner to customers and solve complex data challenges.
  • Build and maintain systems to extract, store and gather insight from data generated by Physical Security systems. 
  • Be an excellent steward of private data maintaining privacy and security at all parts of the development process.
  • Maintain high standards of development practices including technical design, solution development, systems configuration, source control, test documentation/execution and issue identification and resolution.
