Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- Experience in the following areas: Distributed Systems, Back-end, Teamwork.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience programming in C++.
- Experience with solving problems at scale.
- Experience with database core concepts, consistency, isolation.

Spanner is a globally distributed relational database service that is widely used by most of Google’s products and services. Responsibilities
- Make high impact to our biggest Cloud customers with a lot of large, ambiguous challenges to solve at scale.
- Design and develop features to support future scale, increase resiliency and isolation.
- Identify future bottlenecks through monitoring, experimenting and other signals and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and other partner teams to drive holistic solutions, often spanning multiple quarters and requiring cross team influence and strong communication skills.
