Data Infrastructure Engineer, Google Fi and Store

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
  • 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
  • Experience in data engineering with data modeling, experimentation, data analytics.
  • Experience in working with data pipelines (e.g., Flume, Spanner, SQL pipelines).
  • Experience in designing database system or data infrastructure.
  • Excellent technical and data management skills.

The Data and Analytics Infrastructure (DAI) team is a cornerstone of Google Fi and Google Store organizations, responsible for fueling data-motivated impact across multiple functions. Our mission is to empower Fi and Store with the data, tools, and insights needed to make informed decisions and drive growth.

In this role, you will help the team to design, develop, and maintain data solutions and pipelines.Google Fi Wireless focuses on building relationships with customers and providing the best experiences with our devices and services. Google Fi Wireless offers flexible, secure phone plans for individuals and families.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain data solutions and pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Implement best practices for data quality, security, and privacy.
  • Enable data applications (e.g., data visualization, Artificial Intelligence (AI)).
  • Support cross-functional teams and leadership for data-motivated decision making.
