Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in construction commercial/cost control, supply chain management, contracts management, or construction project management.
- Experience with construction contracting and pricing/methods of measurement on industrial projects.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of construction costs drivers, methods of measurement (basis of pricing) and how to influence them.
- Knowledge of contracts, contract law and claims management processes and procedures.
- Supplier management skills.
- Expertise in procurement planning and procurement policy.
About the job
As the Global Commercial & Project Controls (CPC) Director you will lead the sourcing, commercial discussions, agreements, cost control, scheduling and risk management for the construction of Google’s data center program.
In this role, you will work closely with management from design, construction, project controls, contracts and legal to enable delivery of new data center capacity at scale.
The primary focus is on the planning and execution of the construction procurement and commercial activities. Key roles and responsibilities include developing and executing a regional business strategy, complementing the category strategy which positions Google's cost, technology, and availability requirements in a dynamic environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $298,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Provide commercial and project controls leadership within the project(s), directing activities required to support the planning and execution of the project.
- Be able to role model standard business processes, ensure compliance with corporate fiscal, legal, environmental, and risk management policies in order to minimize and limit corporate liability, manage risk, and optimize value.
- Plan for and implement systems necessary to support project execution to budget and schedule expectations.
- Maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships and participate in high-level discussions for major agreements.
- Provide expertise in construction contracting methods and compensation methodologies, understanding the relationship between contractual responsibilities and assignment of risk.
