  • Ability to understand the complex relationship between the organization and its environment, identify connections, adopt different perspectives and respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
  • Ability to work well across product areas, with excellent negotiation skills and deliver on joint objectives and key results.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will drive high-impact strategic initiatives at the intersection of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and product development. You will partner directly with the global SRE organization and its corresponding Workspace Development teams to ensure our services remain resilient, scalable, and innovative. Beyond individual program delivery, you will serve as a Tech Lead (TL) for the Workspace SRE Technical Program Manager (TPgM) cohort, providing mentorship, setting operational standards, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $240,000-$334,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver deep technical Workspace wide projects partnering with product area wide stakeholders through executable roadmaps and plans. Bring an ownership mindset to sort priority inversion and alignment issues across teams to realize program goals.
  • Drive measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity. Establish governance over prioritization decisions to ensure alignment with key performance indicators.
  • Identify and improve operational processes such as launch reviews and planning by working with Cross-functional leaders.
  • Ensure priorities and processes are communicated effectively and consistently and cascade to the broader organization including cross-functional groups.
  • Lead a strategic planning framework for a complex program portfolio including direct influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.
