Experiential Designer, Creative Technology

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in a creative field (e.g., experiential design, graphic design, interior design, or event production).
  • 1 year of experience with creative assets, experiential concepts or spatial design for physical environments.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building a versatile creative portfolio with a proven track record spanning both 2D graphic design, including branding, typography, layout and 3D/physical environments.
  • Experience designing for high-profile global events or luxury brand activations.
  • Experience growing in the high-stakes, rapid-paced environment of major global events where timelines are measured in days, not weeks.
  • Ability to leverage Google’s Gen AI tools, including Gemini ecosystem to explore new ideas, create mood boards, and enhance your design process, and push the boundaries of what is creatively possible, going beyond productivity to actively redefine the design process.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once in a fast-moving environment.

About the job

As a Creative in Marketing, you bring visual, design, written and experiential acumen to Google products and services, presented across all major media, content, channels, and experiences. You have the ability to perform your role in a flexible, ever-changing environment and must be open to new influences and inspiration. You will work with a deeply cross-functional team and inspire a team of vendor partners by sharing ideas and developing effective solutions to generate multiple concepts supporting all forms of major media. You will be equally comfortable making; rolling up your sleeves and designing, mocking, writing, or prototyping; showing, not telling. Above all, you will inspire and lead by example by making the most of every opportunity to develop breakthrough creative, consistent with the Google Marketing brand, and be able to take and provide clear direction and creative feedback that pushes work forward.

As an Experiential Designer, you sit at the crossroads of physical space, 2D visual identity, and digital innovation, using an AI-first approach, you will help conceive and visualise the next-generation of Google experiences as part of the Events and Experiences Team.

As an Experiential Designer within the Events and Experiences (E+E) team, you are a creative specialist who helps bring ideas to life. Your mission is to support the translation of product stories into tangible 2D designs, physical installations, and interactive demos for our EMEA portfolio, including programs like the World Economic Forum (WEF), Zeitgeist, and the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage Gemini and other AI tools to quickly brainstorm ideas, visualise spaces, and create initial design directions.
  • Develop all visual assets needed for events, spanning the look and feel of physical lounges or stages through to printed signs, digital invites, and presentation decks that guests interact with.
  • Assist the team in deciding how an event space should look and feel, including the layout, furniture choices, and the materials used to create a premium atmosphere.
  • Partner with technical producers and external agencies to support the ideation and visualiation of technical demos, ensuring Google’s technology is translated into a physical, relatable, and aesthetically beautiful experience.
  • Ensure all event designs adhere to Google’s brand guidelines while still feeling unique to the specific EMEA activation.
