About the job

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. You are empowered to act like an owner, take action and innovate to meet user and customer needs.

The ASCII (Alphabet Supply Chain Intelligence and Innovation) Design and Engineering Systems team forms the bedrock of Google's Technical Infrastructure.

As an Application Engineer, using the third-party enterprise software and custom-built platforms, you will create systems to define and manage product data for everything from Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) Pods to data center buildings and beyond. You will work closely with Googlers across disciplines including Supply Chain Operations and Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Configuration Engineering, empowering them to effectively model physical hardware, manage changes, identify and mitigate risk. In this role, you'll creatively apply emerging technology including AI to accelerate product development, proactively provide insights, and efficiently serve authoritative data at Google scale for critical downstream functions including planning, manufacturing, deployment, construction, and field service.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
