Minimum qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in engineering leadership in inception, design, implementation, and launch of Business-to-Consumer products.
- 15 years of experience managing an engineering team.
- Experience in Agile software development.
- Experience leading engineering of products in a multi-stakeholder environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Business Management.
- Experience in an AI and LLM background.
- Experience in user experience concerns, surveys, iterative design, research, and mocks, with a good understanding of data privacy and security concerns.
- Experience in EdTech engineering leadership, using products that are web-based, support multiple personas, use cloud infrastructure, work with abuse, and operate in an agile environment, including passion for the education industry.
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Typescript, and cloud infrastructure.
- Executive presence with excellent communication skills for inspiring, interacting, and collaborating with staff, internal business partners, and vendors.

This team is responsible for developing the user-interface and back-end systems to power our learning experiences. These products have the ability to become the learning system for all of Google to aid in skilling the next generation of workers while also driving the consumption of Google Cloud technology.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $278,000-$399,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Lead and own the strategy charter, developing our technical platform strategy and innovation agenda. Synthesize data and create new connections to empower us to make the right decisions for users.
- Lead and develop a talented group of Software Engineers, UX Designers, Researchers and Lab Architects. Inspire a culture of engineering excellence across architecture, design, implementation, launch, measuring success and support. Have an opinion on architectural pillars, design principals, quality of code, and ensure a learning engineering environment.
- Enable the team to plan, organize, and manage complex technical features and capabilities. Create a culture of inclusivity.
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships inside and outside the company.
- Create transparency at all levels across Google Cloud around the work the team is doing and how and what is prioritized. Influence stakeholders of all levels.
