EMC Engineer, Cloud Platforms

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience designing EMC solutions technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with wireless communication protocols, EMC and RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers.
  • Experience in EM predictive and simulation tools, and with CST, ANSYS HFSS, ADS, or similar.
  • Experience in PCB and system level EMC design as well as connector/cables and enclosure design and in EMC debug techniques, with knowledge of emissions and immunity testing.
  • Knowledge in factors influencing EMC emissions/immunity, RF, and mitigating techniques.
  • Knowledge of international EMC, RF regulations, standards (e.g., CISPR, IEC/EN, ETSI, ISO, FCC) and test methods.

As an EMC Engineer in Platforms Engineering, you will play a key role in the development of computing infrastructures. You will collaborate with the Hardware Design teams to develop, test, and validate the EMC design so that products will be compliant with the EMC, RF standards, and regulatory requirements. This will involve engaging with various disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal, Power, and Data Center Engineers, etc.) in the Research and Development cycle to ensure compliance by design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EMC, EMI, Desense and Coexistence mitigation in field and into root causes. 
  • Identify design risks, develop mitigation strategies and guide teams with EMC design principles, including schematics, PCB layout design, and simulations.
  • Review and tailor EMC/RF requirements to meet specified product performance, control plans, and guidelines.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure high quality products, deployment, and specs compliance.
