Quantitative Business Analyst, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Quantitative Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience working in data analytics, consulting, data science, engineering, or a technical operations role.
  • 3 years of experience in statistical problem-solving, and analyzing data sets using SQL or comparable coding.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5 years of experience in the analytics space (e.g., Business Intelligence, Data Science, Business Analyst, etc.).
  • Experience with applied data science concepts and technical skills (e.g., experimentation, statistics, machine learning).
  • Ability to track record of presenting technical solutions and business recommendations to executive stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the YouTube creator ecosystem.

About the job

The YouTube team is responsible for leading global, cross-functional, initiatives to drive the unprecedented growth and health of the YouTube creator and partner ecosystem. The core capabilities of the team include planning and business operations, incentives design and operations, and business strategy and operations for the three regions: Americas, EMEA, and APAC.

As a Quantitative Business Analyst, you will be part of the engine driving the activation of key YouTube products globally and at scale. You will combine investigative expertise with problem-solving to design, evaluate, optimize, and operationalize our central incentives systems. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$167,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analyses and translate data into operational recommendations to help achieve our Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and product adoption goals. Analyze the outcomes driven by our incentive programs, surface key insights, and propose data-driven recommendations.
  • Design, pilot, and operationalize scaled product activation strategies to drive YouTube’s biggest product priorities like shopping, fan funding, podcasts, etc. Identify and execute on opportunity areas for improving YouTube's central scaled incentives system through design levers like pricing, goals, etc.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders in product activation, segmentation, partnerships teams, and technology and insights to drive impact.
  • Navigate YouTube's data warehouse to access and work with relevant data using SQL and other query languages.
  • Practice within the analyst community, leading effective training on development lifecycle, technical infrastructure, modeling, and data concepts.
