Strategic Partnership Development Manager, GenAI (English, Japanese)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or other advanced degree.
  • 7 years of experience in a partner-facing role at a technology company, start-up, consulting or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in partnerships or product management in an internet or technology environment.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partnership Development Manager, you will empower and enable project teams by understanding their mission, identifying partners, initiating relationships, negotiating agreements and serving as a strategic advisor to advance the product area objectives including launch of new AI models.

In this role, you will work with the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team and Country teams to ensure that the region is recognized and opportunities to work together are realized. You will work with the Global GenAI Data Acquisition teams in Research and Core partnerships team and also several cross-product area and cross-functional stakeholders. You have presence across key sites like India, Singapore and Japan.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead exploratory discussions with partners and negotiate and close strategic partnerships, including licensing and sponsorship.
  • Drive the development of strategic and quantitative market analyses to identify and prioritize business opportunities for product missions.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to drive positive impact for GenAI Models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop a partner strategy and business plan for Gemini model development.
  • Invest in understanding the complex customer needs amidst local and global regulatory headwinds and to provide thought leadership and execute partnerships under tight timelines.
