Events Security Operations Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing security operations.
  • Experience working with vendors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing security operations for medium to large scale internal and public events.
  • Experience conducting investigations including criminal, human resources, and safety incidents.
  • Experience with security technologies including CCTV, Access Control, and Incident Management Systems.
  • Experience working with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information, and excellent acumen, discretion, and diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) is tasked with the global responsibility to protect, sustain, and enhance Google's ability to grow, including Regional Security Managers, the Global Security Operations Center, Security Technology, Physical Guarding, Aviation, Executive Protection and Event Resilience, Investigations, Intelligence and Threat Analysis, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Supply Chain Risk.

From keeping Googlers safe and secure to managing disruptive events, the ability to anticipate, deter, detect, and act are the pillars of Google’s Global Security and Resilience Services (GSRS) team. As a member of GSRS you will help develop a culture where safety, security and resiliency are integrated into every facet of Google, including the creative process. You will help us continually identify, evaluate and monitor enterprise risks that could affect business activities and provide business leaders the information they need to make critical decisions. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative strategies and develop programs that drive sustainable effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage complex, medium to large scale security operations for internal and public facing Google events. Conduct risk assessments identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities based on event type, location, attendees, and past incidents.
  • Develop detailed security plans that address access control, crowd management, emergency response procedures, etc. Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff is well-versed in event-specific security protocols, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Manage positive long term, vendor relationships and develop and maintain positive relationships with law enforcement and private sector peers.
  • Work flexible schedules including extended days and weekends. Travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.
  • Manage long-term complex security budgets for events and vendor support teams. Identify and manage event security risks based on full GSRS assessments and current intelligence. Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and lessons learned.
