Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
  • Experience in the Consumer Electronics, Auto, OEMs, Telecom, E-Commerce/Retail, Apps, Ads, Gaming, or Technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or JD degree.
  • Experience using investigative insight and thoughtful structures to solve problems and communicate solution.
  • Comfortable in escalating and presenting key issues and recommendations to senior leadership when needed.
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiating complex agreements with the ability to grasp complex technical and product concepts.
  • Ability to thrive in fluid, collaborative, and ambiguous environments with an entrepreneurial mindset, persistent execution, and the ability to form strong relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate business, financial and other points with partners and internal teams.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

The Google Home Business Development team accelerates the global growth and innovation of the Home Product Area (PA) by managing new business opportunities through partnerships. We own the Third-Party (3P) and partner strategy and business side of new features, products, and initiatives critical to the success of Google Home. In this role, you will develop strategies, identify, define and structure critical partnerships, negotiate agreements, and cultivate our relationships directly with partners. To execute effectively, you will collaborate with Home Product, Engineering, Planning, Partner Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Marketing to ensure partner initiatives align with Cross-functional (XFN) OKRs.

You will focus on developing strategic partnerships with retailers and other ecosystem partners to scale our Gemini-powered Home vertical solutions and subscriptions. You will be working with product counterparts to provide input on product strategy and requirements that enable partnerships, and you will be collaborating across Google to ensure a coordinated approach when engaging with our strategic partners.

You will be adept at identifying partnership goals, with quantitative and investigative skills to structure and evaluate prospective agreements. You are a thought leader who can identify, structure, and analyze new partnership opportunities.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$204,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Execute on partner integrations, product launches and complex go-to-market plans.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional agreements through close collaboration with Product and other cross-functional teams (Engineering, Legal, Operations, Finance) and global/regional Business Development teams. 
  • Collaborate with product teams to design product roadmaps, launch and incubate new product features with partners, improve existing product offerings and identify new product-enabling partnership opportunities.
  • Develop and present strategic recommendations to leadership around growth, ecosystem initiatives and engaged dynamics.
