- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or JD.
- Experience working with or at tech or media companies, music publisher, record label, or other entities involved in licensing of complex rights.
- Ability to interpret complex financial models and technological concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple high-stakes priorities in a constantly evolving, collaborative global environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- High-ownership mindset with a track record of delivering measurable impact in an entrepreneurial, high-expectation environment.
About the job
The YouTube Music team’s aim is to create an online home for publishers, labels, artists, and songwriters, by supporting successful careers for artists and songwriters and building business models for the music industry on YouTube. In this role you will be responsible for providing ongoing business development opportunities to some of YouTube’s most important music publishing and collection society partners, as well as make YouTube’s music business more valuable by identifying and steering the YouTube Music team towards the opportunities.
As Manager for Music Publishing Business Development, you will build and maintain strategic relationships with our music publishing partners in the Americas, including working on negotiations on complex licensing and partnership agreements, partner management, strategy and business operations priorities, and collaborating closely with internal teams on key product launches.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Negotiate publishing agreements with publishers, collecting societies and Partner Relationship Objects (PROs) across North America and Latin America, with a focus on forging first-of-a-kind partnerships to help bring new products to life.
- Drive new business opportunities to publishing partners and manage a portfolio of existing partnerships to optimize business growth and partner satisfaction.
- Execute on strategies that address the evolving digital landscape (e.g., AI, short-form content).
- Partner with management, Finance, Product and Legal on strategic initiatives, including developing proposals and conducting impact analysis and ensuring the operational feasibility of new licensing frameworks.
- Ensure that complex agreements are implemented correctly within internal systems and reporting structures.
