Senior Program Manager, Commercial Partnerships, Advanced Energy Technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program management.
  • 8 years of experience in energy project development, commercial negotiations, or business development for infrastructure, power generation, data center projects, or related industries.
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional programs.
  • Experience developing and negotiating energy or infrastructure partnerships (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) or utility interconnection agreements).
  • Experience with energy technologies, such as next-generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, energy storage (batteries or non-electrochemical), and decarbonization solutions (e.g., carbon capture).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in the power generation, utility, or data center industry in distributed or onsite energy resources.
  • Experience in implementing commercial models and partnerships for new and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of emerging energy technologies, such as energy storage, distributed generation, and decarbonization solutions.
  • Understanding of data center critical infrastructure, including load requirements and resilience standards.
  • Ability to develop and negotiate energy partnerships (e.g., Power Purchase Agreements) with developers, utilities, or government entities across international markets.

About the job

As a Program Manager for Commercial Advanced Energy Partnerships, you will be instrumental in securing the strategic partnerships and commercial agreements to bring advanced energy technologies and new deployment approaches to meet Google's global data center energy needs.

You will serve as the bridge between Google's technical data center requirements and the external energy market, driving the execution of projects that enhance energy resilience, enable the clean energy goals, and support Google’s infrastructure growth.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize attractive commercial partners, project opportunities, and innovative deployment models for advanced energy solutions to meet Google's data center clean energy needs.
  • Lead negotiations for a variety of complex agreements, including offtake, joint development agreements, and investments related to advanced energy projects.
  • Drive alignment and buy-in with internal and external stakeholders to secure project approvals and investment.
  • Maintain knowledge of the advanced energy landscape, including emerging technologies such as next-generation geothermal, nuclear, energy storage, and carbon capture, translating technical advancements into viable commercial opportunities.
