Senior Global Supply Chain Manager, Display

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in commodity management, sourcing and supply chain management.
  • Experience with commodities such as display, sub-component, display module integration in consumer products.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a Technical or Engineering field or MBA.
  • 10 years of experience in procurement.
  • 8 years of experience in commodity management, display module and component sourcing or supply chain management.
  • Experience with partnering, collaborating, and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience managing overall ramp readiness with engineering, operations, and supplier teams.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, sourcing, and collaboration skills.

About the job

Commodity Managers work with Engineering teams to make sure Google has the supplies and equipment to put into production the innovative products coming from our Engineering teams. As a Commodity Manager, you use your wide industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimize our total cost of ownership for our global -- and growing -- infrastructure. The scale at which Google operates means that savings on just one piece of hardware can have a huge impact on Google's bottom line.

As a Global Supply Chain Manager for Display, you will have the opportunity to work on the display technology and related key component developments as well as module integrations. You will participate in New Technology Introductions (NTI), lead the program Request for Information (RFI)/Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, qualify new technology/process/supplier, and be part of the core team for program-level execution. You will serve as a supplier-related issues escalation point for cross-functional teams, including material science, product engineering, supplier development engineering, and operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage supplier road maps and new technology investigations.
  • Lead program RFI/RFQ negotiations, supplier selection processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in and influence supplier and sourcing strategy and execution.
  • Lead communication with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve all issues arising from development and ramp stages, serving as the escalation point.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure material/supply availability and readiness for development builds and mass production.
