About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As part of the Compliance, Safety and Risk Management (CSRM) team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program for our new Data Centers, currently under construction. This includes but is not limited to: EHS management system, environmental, health and safety compliance programs, and site oversight. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams within Google Data Center departments and contractors to identify and address EHS concerns, and risk identification and mitigation.

You'll help ensure the safety of the operations workforce, protection of the environment and Google’s business. Furthermore, you will provide guidance with the implementation of new and critical EHS initiatives. Your efforts will contribute to the continuous improvement and iteration of our EHS programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Execute EHS programs and technical projects to optimize business operations, leveraging and expanding subject matter expert (SME) knowledge to drive safety culture.
  • Manage site-specific EHS compliance tasks and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Oversee permit maintenance and ensure all operational activities align with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Evaluate incident data and lead root-cause investigations. Track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure timely closure and prevent recurrence.
  • Identify and assess operational EHS risks through regular site audits. Organize and execute strategic meetings, comprehensive reports, and site-safety plans to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), using data-driven insights to measure program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
