About the job

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Play Partnerships Developer Go-to-Market Team is an organization designed to drive excellence in bringing the most important Google Play products to our developer ecosystem and utilizing developers' feedback to shape the future of our products.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Partnerships to build a thriving developer ecosystem. Your work will directly influence the success of our Unified Gaming Platform, and you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on developers and their businesses.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead strategic developer GTM initiatives that enhance developer success on our platform. Collaborate with Product Managers, UX, and Engineering to influence design and launch of features that address developer pain points and unlock new opportunities.
  • Advocate the needs of developers across apps and games, acting as their advocate throughout the development and execution of our product roadmap, ensuring their requirements are seamlessly integrated into Play Games product areas.
  • Prioritize developer needs based on data-driven business cases (business projections, market analysis) and direct developer feedback (interviews, surveys, usage data). Communicate these insights to cross-functional partners.
  • Orchestrate global go-to-market strategies for developer-focused products and features, including crafting launch plans, training resources, and support materials.
  • Quantify the impact of our developer-centric initiatives by tracking key metrics such as developer satisfaction, platform adoption, and business growth.
