Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of product management or related experience.
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of product managers.
  • Experience delivering consumer products and leading end-to-end product development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in a technical field.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across organizations in a matrixed environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for developing products from an early stage. Innovative problem solving skills that can turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear, creative solutions.

About the job

The AI Rich Experiences product team is defining the next generation Consumer AI Search experience. We are reimagining what the most helpful and actionable answer is throughout your interactions with Search, and we are expanding Search to satisfy new types of journeys. We do this by applying and pushing frontier capabilities of our models.

As Director, you will drive the integration of core web and first-party content (e.g., images, videos, entities) into our responses, delivering helpful and actionable answers. You will own defining the outlook and strategy of how we integrate the best of our web and first-party data to enable people to get to the answers they are looking for with minimal friction. You will partner closely with teams across Search and Ads to drive joint goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve our AI Overviews and AI Mode responses to be most helpful and actionable during any interaction by bringing in the best of our core web and first-party content (e.g., images, videos, entities).
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders to define product requirements and roadmap. 
  • Set up virtual teams that are empowered to run towards goals, and support and steer them to enable them to deliver. 
  • Define a culture of product excellence and high rate of delivery.
  • Develop and grow talent through effective mentoring, coaching, and succession planning for key talent in a fast growth, highly competitive economic environment.
