Strategic Partner Manager, DACH, News, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
  • Experience working in the News and Publishing industry.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing partnerships, with a focus on tracking performance metrics, forecasting outcomes, and maintaining a positive partner relationship.
  • Experience working with Product, Legal, and Communications teams to execute joint initiatives and navigate internal landscapes.
  • Understanding of the regional news ecosystem and market trends to inform decision-making and product development.
  • Ability to plan and lead prioritized projects using formal methodologies to deliver results within strict timelines.
  • Ability to resolve partner escalations and advocate for partner needs while maintaining productive, professional relationships.

About the job

As a part of Strategic Partner Development Manager in Germany, you will cultivate and manage high-impact partnerships within the News and Journalism ecosystem. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and strengthening relationships with traditional broadcasters, digital-first news publishers, and journalists. You will serve as a lead consultant on their YouTube content strategy, helping them navigate the evolving media landscape and meticulously tracking impact to drive mutual, sustainable success.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in relationship building, negotiation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to contribute to the strategic development of YouTube's partnerships in Germany. You will grow in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a strong understanding of Google's internal processes and products. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary lead for major DACH news publishers, developing data-driven business plans and content strategies to drive growth and platform advocacy.
  • Drive adoption of YouTube news products and features by identifying partners for alpha/beta testing and synthesizing feedback to influence global products and GTM roadmaps.
  • Resolve partner escalations and policy/copyright issues by collaborating with Legal, Trust and Safety, and Operations teams to ensure ecosystem health.
  • Represent YouTube News externally at industry events and workshops, while surfacing unique cross-Google opportunities to deepen partner relationships.
  • Enhance the DACH partner landscape through pitch best practices while actively contributing to Google’s internal culture and cross-functional synergy with Sales, Marketing, and Communications.
