Director, Mid-Market Sales, Commerce, Google Customer Solutions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience within a business to business sales-related/business development commercial role.
  • 15 years of experience in sales and digital marketing, including leadership in technology, Internet, or media industries.
  • 10 years of experience in the Retail industry.
  • 5 years of people management experience and leading geographically-distributed sales teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing managers and fostering career growth for early career sellers to executive sales professionals.
  • Experience as a go-to-market Sales leader with experience exceeding business generation and operational goals coupled with an understanding of profitability levers for Retail and exporting knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate, present, and craft compelling narratives as a thought leader to influence internal and external stakeholders at C-suite levels including CEOs and CFOs.
  • Ability to operate in the ambiguity of an ever-evolving product that operates at scale globally.
  • Ability to build innovative business growth strategies with operational aptitude.

The Mid-Market Sales (MMS) team partners with the largest accounts in the small and medium business segment in the Canadian Market. We provide both custom and scaled solutions to our partners, solving their marketing and business challenges and offering insights into how to grow and scale their business. Ultimately, we help commerce brands from all over Canada succeed, grow, and acquire more customers profitably.

As Director, Mid-Market Sales (MMS), you will lead business growth programs in the Commerce sector, working with established and often highly sophisticated digital-native customer companies. You will collaborate with the Canada MMS Commerce leadership team to define the outlook, strategy, and got-to-market for the organization, including adopting AI, aligning with regional and global GCS priorities. Your expertise in digital media, combined with sales leadership, AI expertise and analytical skills, will shape your team’s strategy. You will cultivate C-level customer relationships and actively sell to drive growth, you will role model by doing and your team will manage unique business portfolios. You will empower your team to operate with ownership, earn the right to sit at the decision making table for these companies pursue ambitious goals, develop their skills, and succeed collectively.

The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is CAD 260,000-267,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Create and lead an inspiring outlook and strategy for the team in alignment with GCS America's priorities. Establish critical initiatives and KPIs, ensuring resources are optimized to exceed goals using the full power of Google's AI-powered marketing platform.
  • Hire, retain, and develop a customer-focused sales team skilled at engaging executive leadership and driving business results.
  • Deliver against business goals and drive incremental growth to accelerate year-over-year performance.
  • Strengthen executive-level relationships with clients and partners through C-level meetings, quarterly reviews, and speaking engagements. Drive thought leadership and anticipate industry disruption.
  • Foster cross-functional alignment with partner teams, including Marketing, Finance, and Central Strategy. Serve as an executive spokesperson for MMS at key Commerce industry events.
