Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

Google Play provides apps, games, and digital content services that bring Android devices to life. The Play Store serves over billions of users around the world, and is a critical driver of Google’s overall business growth.

With a combination of tactical thinking, sharp problem-solving skills, commercial acumen, you will provide the insights and operational excellence that enable Play to delight users, empower developers and create value for Google. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Go-to-Market and other teams to support all of Play's products and ecosystem.

Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use problem-solving skills to navigate external and internal data sources, articulate hypotheses, extract data, build models, and synthesize findings into business implications, develop recommendations and communicate findings to Play leadership team.
  • Work to grow in a fluid environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Manage the Play business, including structuring the executive team’s review agenda across all Play areas, running Monthly business reviews, and driving alignment on business priorities.
  • Work cross-functionally across the organization, partnering with Product, Finance, Data Science and other teams on a variety of growth-focused projects.
  • Develop an understanding of engaged platforms and industry trends, and combine problem-solving and communication skills to identify, summarize, and share insights at all levels of the organizations.
