Technical Program Manager, Global Server Operations Fleet Actions

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working cross-functionally with various teams outside of the direct reporting chain.
  • Experience in leading data center operations (e.g., rack moves, networking).
  • Knowledge of data center logistics processes and terminology.
  • Proven ability to architect and synchronize cross-regional workflows, ensuring operational readiness across global sites within compressed timelines.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with teams involved in the end-to-end data center build lifecycle, such as those responsible for planning, supply chain, and data center operations that interact with or consume data from Twister, VRM, and Overture.
  • Ability to develop PLX (dashboards, queries) to support data driven decisions.

The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google’s technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google’s global fleet of data centers running smoothly and efficiently. As a member of Fleet Management at Google, you will develop relationships, both internally and externally, and connect with internal customers and partner teams to develop an understanding of their business requirements and goals.

As a Technical Program Manager in Global Server Operations (GSO) Fleet Management Machines, you will lead the development, refinement, and execution of business processes governing the lifecycle of machines within our data centers. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, standardization, and operational excellence across our global fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve standardized business processes for data center machine operations, encompassing rack moves, upgrades, and decoms.
  • Partner closely with teams across the Global Infrastructure Group, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Data Center operational teams to develop and implement best practices and drive standardized solutions.
  • Develop, track, and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure and enhance GSO's efficiency and operational excellence across machine fleet management programs. 
  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning the entire machine lifecycle, ensuring seamless execution and coordination between diverse teams.
  • Lead the high-urgency rollout of storage capacity post-GA, ensuring hardware is deployed quickly and efficiently across various sites.
