Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of conversation design experience in product design or UX design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in iterative design and delivery methodologies within the XR (AR/VR/MR) space or Android.
  • Experience working across organizational and functional boundaries to prioritize opportunities and mitigate constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Excellent conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability to grow in a rapid-paced, 0-1 environment.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

Come help us design, define, and build the future of human-computer interaction. As a part of the UX team, you will work on technologies to enable the next-generation of XR experiences and devices. You will design, prototype, and research the experiences and interactions that set the direction for Google's emerging products across the spectrum of XR devices.

As a UX designer on XR, you will lead critical System UI design projects to ensure high quality experiences for XR users and developers. You will be responsible for defining the UX foundations for System UI for existing and next-generation XR devices.

This role requires a motivated individual contributor who is enthusiastic about 0->1 products, capable of navigating ambiguity, and passionate about establishing industry-leading designs, patterns and frameworks for AI wearables.For decades, the computing revolution has reshaped our world driven by
breakthroughs in compute, connectivity, mobile, and now, AI. Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where
lightweight XR devices like smart glasses and headsets pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive design of XR experiences that are intuitive, delightful and scalable.
  • Lead the discovery and ideation for Android XR patterns that adapt to evolving technology, user expectations, and broader Android/Pixel ecosystem.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and cross-product area partners on cohesive design strategies and deliver clear, actionable design direction.
  • Innovate user experiences by exploring new interaction paradigms, and working with research to validate.
