Program Manager, Mobile Release, Waze

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management, leading
    multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Experience in Vendor management and leading cross-functional teams or projects.
  • Experience in mobile software development life-cycles (iOS/Android), mobile-specific release pipelines, and mobile deployment tools (e.g., App Store Connect, Google Play Console FireBase, CI/CD platforms).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues that arise during the mobile release process, often under pressure.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities, manage challenges, and grow in a fast-moving, evolving mobile technology environment.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established procedures in all release-related activities, crucial for preventing mobile app issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating the end-to-end release life-cycle of our mobile applications, ensuring seamless, high-quality deployments with minimal disruption to our users. You will be a key driver in upholding our commitment to excellence, working closely with various teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive release plans, schedules, and timelines for mobile application updates and new versions, coordinating release windows and ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Orchestrate the entire mobile release process across teams including mobile development (iOS/Android), Back-end, Quality Assurance, Product, and Operations.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with mobile releases and develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Advocate quality throughout the release life-cycle, ensuring all mobile releases meet stringent quality standards through testing, validation, and adherence to defined release criteria.
  • Serve as the central communication hub for all stakeholders. Create and maintain comprehensive release documentation, and identify opportunities to enhance and streamline mobile release management processes.
