Pixel Partner Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working on carrier certifications such as PTCRB/GCF.
  • 1 year of experience programming in one of the languages such as Java, C, Bash, Python.
  • Experience with cellular radio technologies.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently to communicate in business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with Android and its architecture.
  • Experience with cellular radio technologies and features such as 2G/3G/4G LTE, VoLTE, 4X4 MIMO, 5G, antenna design, OSI Stack, etc.

About the job

The Pixel Partner Engineering team’s mission is to plan and drive strategic direction in the delivery of pixel programs encompassing development, certifications, and launch of connected devices.

The team is responsible for carrier certification and type approvals for Pixel products, including technical feature planning, supporting product ranging, network certification testing, product performance and feature negotiation, and execution. Our team interfaces with multiple cross-functional teams across tiers including engineering, product, business, partnerships, sales, quality, marketing, and operations.

Whether working with next-gen chipset manufacturers or emerging market telcos, Pixel Partner Engineering team helps solve some of the toughest mobile technology problems in the new era of Gemini delivering the Google helpfulness through application of AI. We maintain crucial relationships with and build technical solutions for our long-term partners who are making Pixel the best phones in the world.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders for Pixel phones in any technical matter.
  • Elicit the product USPs with partners and drive technical readiness for successful product launches.
  • Analyze new network features and gather operator requirements, to provide guidance and feedback to engineering and product managers.
  • Support and drive the carrier and industry approvals of wireless devices.
  • Report project status, prioritize tasks, analyse issues (and logs), drive them to resolution (completion) together with the Hardware and Software Engineering team.
