Managing Director, Central Channel Sales and Commercial Operations

  • 20 years of experience in commercial operations, channel sales, business development, or related fields within the Consumer Electronics, Telecom, or Retail industries.
  • Experience managing global and multi-layered teams.
  • Experience developing and executing commercial strategies and operational programs, including sales incentive plans with business impact.
  • Experience working with C-level executives, internally and externally.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree.
  • Experience designing and scaling commercial operations, and developing tools, systems, and sales incentive programs.
  • Expertise in the global hardware go-to-market landscape, including retail, carrier, and distribution channels, economics, and operational dynamics.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate high-level strategy into actionable plans for scaled execution.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present to and interact with executives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive insights from complex data.

Google's Devices and Services Business Organization (DSBO) is dedicated to bringing the best of Google's hardware, software, and services to users around the world. The Central Commercial Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring commercial excellence and maximizing the sell-out performance of our product portfolio.

As the Managing Director, Central Channel Sales and Commercial Operations, you will be an executive leader responsible for defining and driving the global strategy for Channel Sales and Activations, providing executive oversight for the global Sales Incentive Program (SIP) management for the hardware sales team, and overseeing the development and optimization of supporting commercial processes, tools, and infrastructure for Google's Devices and Services. You will lead a global team dedicated to empowering our regional commercial teams, enhancing partner performance across retail, carrier, indirect, and online channels, and ensuring seamless execution.

In this role, you will think strategically, operate globally, and drive significant business impact through operational excellence and innovative commercial programs. You will collaborate closely with regional sales leaders, marketing, finance, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams to achieve our ambitious goals.

The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $315,000-$439,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the global channel business strategy to maximize hardware sell-through, market share, and profitability by transforming partner engagement and unifying cross-functional execution.
  • Provide executive leadership for the global Sales Incentive Program, designing compensation strategies with executive leaders to motivate sales teams and drive core business objectives.
  • Architect a scalable commercial infrastructure, delivering transformative tools and processes that empower sales teams, accelerate growth, and boost productivity.
  • Attract, develop, and lead a high-performing global commercial operations organization, fostering a culture of operational excellence across all functions.
  • Influence C-level stakeholders on the strategic evolution of the commercial model, using data-driven insights to recommend and implement change.
