Vice President, Product Management, Privacy, Safety and Security

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of professional experience as a product management leader, developing product vision and roadmap, engaging with customers and driving development, coordinating launches, and ensuring post-launch success.
  • 10 years of experience as a people manager/leader addressing risk, fraud, abuse, trust, safety, privacy, or security issues, in addition to international travel and working across multiple regions and time zones.
  • 10 years of experience working with engineering or product development teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing nuanced and complex responsibility issues for platforms on a global basis.
  • Ability to communicate with, and to influence, board-level management.
  • Ability and willingness to flex between platform policy, strategy and execution.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong product and technical abilities in areas related to infrastructure and ecosystems.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

The US base salary for this full-time position is $550,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a product outlook and roadmap for all Privacy, Safety, and Security (PSS) products, and our Safer with Google strategy. Lead the organization that ensures all Google’s products and users are protected.
  • Inspire innovation that results in product transformation, drives improvements in security and privacy metrics, and addresses gaps and opportunities across product experiences.
  • Lead outbound coordination efforts across product areas by building relationships, partnering and influencing product area leads and their teams across Google.
  • Commercialize products working with revenue units where appropriate, to bring our cutting-edge capabilities directly to our users and customers.
  • Manage, lead, and grow a global team of product managers with a commitment to inspiring a respectful team and workplace.
