Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience programming in Kotlin or Java.
  • 5 years of experience programming in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
  • 1 year of experience with service architecture, domain-driven design, and the development of distributed services.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience in the end-to-end design, scaling, and performance tuning of AI-integrated web applications within dynamic environments.
  • Experience with ML model fine-tuning, evaluation, and performance optimization for user-facing systems.

Global Business and Operations (GBO) Engineering is an embedded team within Google’s Ad sales. We build consumer-grade internal tooling for sales, marketing and service teams.

Our team of engineers, designers and product managers is responsible for internal platforms that support sales and marketing teams to run events, deliver professional services, manage commercial agreements with ads customers and transform our go-to-market readiness with learning and development technology.

In this role, you will be responsible for building, designing, and deploying modern web applications. You will leverage your technical skills to architect scalable solutions, address dependencies, and shape the team's technical strategy.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand issues and translate them into effective solution designs, partnering with Product, UX, and other engineering teams.
  • Drive AI efforts including Gemini integrations that are both scalable and high-performant.
  • Develop, test, and monitor scalable, and reliable web solutions that meet business needs.
  • Write and review technical documents (e.g., product, technical design, developer documentation) and code in TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, Python, or SQL.
