Senior Microdisplay Architect, Raxium

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience in micro-display architecture (i.e., logic design, circuit design, modulation techniques, or display panel drive electronics), or 12 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in CMOS COT (Constant On-Time) implementation and modulation software methodologies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with microLED-based microdisplays and their associated digital artifacts.
  • Expertise in full custom CMOS COT design tools and methodologies.
  • Understanding of microLED display technology and its impact on overall system designs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

About the job

As a Senior MicroDisplay Architect, you will be responsible for establishing the full custom COT (Customer Owned Tooling) design architecture to achieve highly efficient microdisplay panels and AR/VR systems. Your involvement will span logic design, microarchitecture, modulation techniques, alternative circuit designs, pixel designs, and various full System-on-a-Chip (SoC) design alternatives. The architecture you develop will need to support a family of products and be exceptionally power and area efficient to cater to both low-end and high-end information glasses.

Google's Raxium display group has established a revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology that enables new functionality in display products, bringing to users a closer and more natural linkage between the digital and physical realms in applications such as augmented reality (AR) and light-field display. With start-up roots and a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, Raxium is seeking to build upon its engineering team with an aim to disrupt next-generation display markets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with analog and digital circuit designers to drive design requirements and product specifications and its various constraints (e.g., area, power, weight, removal digital artifacts).
  • Lead the overall architecture of MicroLED-based micro-display panels.
  • Lead the software development (digital modulation) for microdisplays.
  • Drive innovation in pixel design to meet various design and system constraints.
  • Improve layout methodologies and contribute to the team's technical expertise.
