Industry Manager, Retail (German) (Fixed-Term Contract)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of industry experience in advertising, consultative sales, business development, or IT, or 3 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience working with advertisers, agencies, or clients.
  • Experience leading sales operations for enterprise-level accounts.
  • Ability to communicate in German fluently as it is a customer facing role in Germany.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the digital industry or retail industry and performance management and business-to-business communication.
  • Experience in media, including online media, with an understanding of search advertising.
  • Experience in sales/marketing or digital business (e.g., agency, consultancy).
  • Experience in business development, client relationship building on executive level, and in solution-based selling, with excellent sales and servicing skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and Google advertising products.

As an Industry Manager in the Retail team, you will have the opportunity to work with large and international Retailers in a dynamic market. You will go into understanding their business, consult them holistically and become a trusted advisor on an executive management level. You will extend our network beyond the advertising business as Google has various business touch points within the retailing industry (e.g., Ads, Hardware, Assistant, Cloud). You as an Industry Manager will be the hub for all this business touch points which makes this role highly exciting.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with clients, their agencies and their consultancies. Aim new budgets and develop strong solution based pitches with branding focus.
  • Analyze data trends and client performance, develop strategic sales plans, and prepare and conduct strategic pitches and sales presentations.
  • Represent the Retail team at internal and external events and trade fairs, as well as advocate new product releases, internally and externally.
  • Develop case studies of successful campaigns in order to share insights with the broader industry and to serve as an advocate at industry events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with major customers beyond ads business with the goal of extending relationships, increasing our client and agency network and establishing strategic relationships.
