Vendor Operations Manager, Trust and Safety

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience in working with SQL, Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in the industry standard operations or Project management (e.g., PMP).
  • Experience in leading projects in a changing global setup and ability to learn and thrive in ambiguity.
  • Experience in managing data quality processes with the ability to identify efficiency and quality improvement opportunities.
  • Experience with extended workforce business processes or vendor management.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate and build consensus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and thinking skills with attention to detail in a changing environment.

About the job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving operations for global abuse fighting and making Trust and Safety's vendor operations excellent. You will work in partnership with product functions to understand their needs and help identify the best vendor strategy to deliver them. You will partner with vendor operations teams across locations to drive excellence throughout the vendor operations. You will focus on solutions and operational execution. You will work globally and cross-functionally with several internal stakeholders through relationship building and communication. You will manage global election operations for multiple elections happening world-wide, across regions and time-zones.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and operations in a global setup. Monitor, measure and communicate project progress, potential risks/delays and team performance to teams, executives and other sponsors.
  • Understand internal tools and processes and leverage those to promote automation and increase work efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to Trust and Safety across Product, Policy and Engineering teams and drive projects that improve the quality of vendor operations and make the products safer and drive Turnaround Time (TAT), Decision Quality Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence across vendors.
  • Manage Purchase Orders (POs) and Invoices across the vendors.
  • Work with sensitive content or situations and can be exposed to graphic, controversial or upsetting topics or content.
